Alessia Randazzo

Alessia received her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Virginia in 2022. She joined the Corr Lab the following fall as a doctoral student.

Alessia’s research focuses on engineering single-fiber tendons to investigate the impacts of various macroenvironmental stimuli on biomechanical properties, as well as study the signaling pathways activated. This work aims to provide a better foundational understanding of how tendons mature and develop.

In her free time, Alessia enjoys powerlifting, crocheting, and reading.
